Canopy Imaging KK2

Kerikeri, Northland

2025

After successfully delivering Canopy Imaging’s first high-tech facility in Kerikeri, P6 was honoured to be re-engaged for the design and fit-out of a second neighbouring clinic. This new facility expands services for the Far North community, introducing both X-Ray and Ultrasound to complete the region’s imaging suite.

Unlike the advanced technology focus of the first stage, this clinic required a low-tech clinical environment. Our team carefully planned zoning and circulation to optimise patient and staff flow, ensuring functionality while creating a calm, intuitive space.

Design continuity was essential. We drew inspiration from the natural beauty and cultural identity of Northland, reinterpreting key elements from the first facility — including woven flax-style wallcoverings and timber reception joinery — to create a cohesive, welcoming experience.

At the heart of the brief was patient comfort. From arrival to departure, every detail was designed to put visitors at ease and soften the often-anxious experience of medical imaging.

Since opening, site visits have confirmed the impact of this approach. The second clinic is not only a stunning addition to the KK1 precinct but also a vital resource for the community, reinforcing Canopy’s commitment to accessible, patient-centred imaging services.
